EMSAMBLAJES PAISAJÍSTICOS
An collective exhibition with Zazil Barba, Carlos Ndungmandum, Anabella Papa, Natalia Ramos, Luis Alfonso Villalobos curated by Alma Saladin and Marco Rountree.
“In my case, for this exhibition I worked with two series: the "Bisio" series and the "Jacarande e pino" series. Guadalajara 90210 gallery in GDL, Mexico has some peculiarities that make you must taking your work both indoors and outdoors. In turn, the gallery space has such a powerful personality that you have keep it in mind so that your work integrates with it”.
BISIO
A journey, a transit, returning to the primary, a leap into the void from the farthest place.
"Bisio" is the first series I did when I arrived in Mexico. Never before had I been so far from my origins, this made me feel the need to reconnect to them through my practice. You could say that this series is a tribute to the Bisios of Equatorial Guinea.
JACARANDA E PINO
Wood as a starting point.
"Jacaranda e pino" is the second series made in Mexico. I started it at the end of 2019 and continued it in 2020. This series has been affected by the state of confinement. In that period of prolonged uncertainty there are two things that have kept me stable, my artistic practice and meditation. This series is a lifesaver when the ship sinks.
Guadalajara 90210 is a project dedicated to contemporary art, based in Guadalajara (Mx) and Ciudad de Mexico, which explores new exhibition formats through the organization of site-specific projects offsite.
